Greenland
2001

Greenland has issued 16th October 2001 - the opening day of the international stamp exhibition Hafnia 01 in Copenhagen, Denmark  - the three stamps shown below.  The motifs on the stamps feature the preliminary drafts from 1932 for Greenland's first postage stamps, which drafts were never used until now.  The motifs are specific Greenlandic, such as the northern light, a seal, and a polar bear.  The designer (in 1932) was Mr. Harry Nielsen, Copenhagen.
