San Marino 1974

The engravings for San Marino are of a particular beauty.  The below set of eight stamps all show ancient weapons from Cesta Museum, San Marino.

For more knowledge about Medieval Armours, I can warmly recommend the book "The History of Chivalry and Armor" by Dr. F. Kottenkamp, New York 1988, giving an excellent introduction to the historical background of the armours shown on the engravings of San Marino.
