40c xx.xx.1956 typography TIZ typography MN xx.xx.1954 offset-litho MN
The 40c in offset-litho has at least 2 watermarks of which all also with the 2nd print for Servico Oficial in offset-litho. The paper is uncoated as was normal then for offset-litho. |
Klass (1970) mentions 3 stamps: all with matt national paper and yellow gum. sizes and colour: 20x26 - rojo apagado; 20x26 - rojo oscuro; 19.5x25.5 - rojo oscuro perforation: 13 1/2:13 ; 13 12/:13 1/2 ; 13 1/2:13 I have not compared this with the papers I have found as I only acquired the Klass recently. The rose shades, orthogonal watermark, symmetric paper wire; direction of paper horizontal: |
The darker ones, orthogonal watermarks, symmetrical (?) paper wire; direction of paper: vertical: these are terrible to recognize as you can hardly see the watermark.... |
The parallel watermark, vertical direction of paper, a-symmetrical paper wire: |
So far the offset-litho version! The typography version is even more diverse! The simple division might be uncoated versus coated [mate vs tizado] but when you look at the scans you mat wonder whether this is all! Utmost rare is the stamp with an orthogonal watermark, a-symmetrical (?) paper wire; direction of paper horizontal: I have only 1 copy of that watermark! |
The offset-litho uncoated versions continue with the direction of paper vertical: 3 different stamps with various appearances.... Best to be compared to the 2nd printings of several Evita lower values on "national paper" !! |
The offset-litho coated versions also have the direction of paper vertical: But the 1st and the 2nd stamp have an a-symmetrical paper wire: |
The third stamp is clearly different and has the appearance of the uncoated version show here above! My bet guess here is that this IS the uncoated paper having been varnished [barnizado]!!! Again, 3 different stamps with various appearances.... |
