1991. Swedish Maps. The stamps are part of a set of six different ancient maps, of which Slania has engraved the three stamps shown. The stamps are printed se-tenant in the strip, and form the upper part of the booklet pane. There is no upper selvedge.

1991. Centenary of the Swedish amusement parks. The stamps feature an open air theatre, and an open air dancing in the white summer nights.

Top left: The head of King Gustav III (1881-1792).
Top middle: Label showing Slania's engraving tools. This label was a special grant by the Swedish Post Office and the Swedish Royal Family for the occasion of Slania's 70th birthday.
Top right. King Gustav III's crowned head.
Bottom: Details of a painting by C.G. Pilo, showing the coronation of King Gustav III (1881-1792).
To the right an unofficial postcard similar to the bottom stamp, engraved and signed by Slania's close friend, Piotr Naszarkowski, who is also a stamp engraver at the Swedish Post Office. On the postcard the king's portrait is replaced by Slania's, being crowned in the place of King Gustav III - or rather "King Czeslaw I the Great" . :-))

The Holy Mother from Don, Byzantine Art, 14th century. Tretyakow Gallery, Moscow. The original art work is shown to the right of the stamp, scanned from a Russian postcard.
The Archangel Gabriel, Byzantine Art, 12th century. Russian Museum, St. Petersburg.
1992. Nobel Laureate of Literature. Derek Walcott (*1930). The die was ready in only one week after the announcing of the laureate !
Please note that the stamps are a joint issue with Russia. There are 4 stamps in the set, but only the two displayed here are by Czeslaw Slania. The similar Russian stamps are NOT engraved by Czeslaw Slania.
